WHEN THE MONEY COMES

by Shay Martin

A wind-to-wings for those who might need a little credit, in the vein of Ok Go's "This Too Shall Pass." Where that song concerns the washing away of worries with morning, this work is about the same being done with money.

You know you can’t keep lettin’ it get you down,

And you can’t keep losin’ this weekend to frown;

Just call the old man, and mime breakdown,

Then party so hearty when you hear the sound:

When the money comes.

You know you can’t keep lettin’ it get you down,

And you can’t keep draggin’ this fool fear around;

Just call up mom, say your fall’s to ground,

Then smile like clown when you hear the sound:

When the money comes.

Let it go,

This, too, shall pass:

When the money comes.

Yes, let it go,

This, too, shall pass:

When the money comes.
